Sheds & Outdoor Structures in Portland: what to know
Damp Portland winters push homeowners toward sheds on raised, well-drained bases and rot-resistant lumber that holds up to moss and mildew. Covered pergolas and carports are popular for stretching outdoor time into the shoulder seasons, and playsets go up quickly once yards dry out in spring. Small sheds may be exempt, but larger structures and anything with electrical often need a permit and must respect setback rules.
